Our hair removal treatments are carried with our Medilase Pro diode laser. This revolutionary technology diode laser offers four wavelengths enabling us to expand the treatment spectrum. Which in practive means that we can treat all hair colour (except grey) and is safe for all skin types*.
Medilase Pro diode laser is medically certified and CE approved.
Treatments performed using the Medilase Pro diode laser are comfortable, quick and painless. The modern head cooling system ensures that the treated areas are quickly cooled to the optimal temperature after each laser energy beam is directed.
Significant hair reduction can be seen even after the very first session!
No more waxing, shaving or electrolysis!
Hair removal treatments required for a normal hair growth - approx. 6 treatments. More sessions may be required based on individual characteristics.

A treatment consultation is required for Laser HR minimum 72hrs prior to your treatment. A patch test will done the day of your consultation.

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE FOR LASER HR TREATMENTS

Client must stay out of the sun and avoid tanning beds, self-tanning, tanning drops, or tinting moisturisers for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the treatment (more if required for the skin to return to its natural colour)

Do not apply perfumes, deodorants, lotions, creams, make-up, aromatherapy oils or any perfumed products to the area to be treated for minimum 24hrs prior to the treatment

Do not use Retin A, Retinol, vitamin A content cosmeceuticals (for example Environ Skincare), AHAs, BHAs acids minimum 7 days before your treatment.

Do not use photosensitive medications or other antibiotics, steroids minimum 7 days before your treatment (period before to be confirmed by your aesthetician).

Do not use painkillers or anti-inflammatories minimum 2 days/48 hours before your treatment.
-
Avoid vitamin A orally for 7 days prior to the treatment
-
Do not consume any alcohol minimum 48 hrs prior to your treatment.
-
We recommend that you avoid coffee or other stimulants a minimum 12 hours prior to your treatment.

Photosensitising medications or other can be antihistamines, antidepressants, steroids including asthma inhalers, iron tablets, pain killers, essential oils applied topically, certain herbal teas (St. John's wort, calendula, horsetail, pansy, slimming teas, psoralens in herbs).

Do not irritate the area to be treated with scrubs or exfoliants.

Do not wax, tweeze, pluck within 6 weeks before your treatment.

Hair removal cream can be used 2 weeks before the treatment.

Gently shave the area to be treated within 24hrs before the treatment.

We recommend Aloe Vera morning and evening one week prior to your treatment and in between treatments. Your aesthetician will make recommendations the day of your consultation or ask at reception.
Please make your therapist aware of any medication or herbal creams, oils and supplements you are using the day of your consultation and if any changes, please call the clinic ahead of your treatment to confirm that the treatment can still be carried.
Please note that it is your responsibility to follow these pre- treatment advice and to advise your aesthetician about any changes in your health or any medication prior to your appointment.
AFTERCARE ADVICE POST LASER HR TREATMENTS

Use aloe vera gel to cool the treatment area daily
-
Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks and always wear a high factor sun protection cream – SPF 50 – after the treatment
-
Do not use fake tan, sunbeds, tanning drops, gradual tanners for 5 days after the treatment– IMPORTANT: Before the next treatment is carried out fake tan should not be applied for a minimum of 14 days prior to the treatment, more if needed

Keep the area free from deodorants, make up, aromatherapy oils or perfumed products for 24-48hrs
-
Avoid hot baths, showers, heat treatments (sauna, steam rooms, heavily chlorinated swimming pools and hot tubes) for 72hrs
-
Avoid intense exercise for 3 days

Do not put Ice directly onto the skin’s surface as a freezer burn may occur
-
Wear loose clothing to avoid friction (including underwear) on the treated areas
-
Avoid scrubs, AHA’s, BHA’s, retinol, etc for minimum 7 days after the treatment
-
Do not apply makeup for 24hrs after the treatment and avoid friction for 3-5 days post treatment. We recommend mineral makeup after any laser or aesthetic treatment (powders, foundations, concealers) – make up brushes have to be freshly cleaned and sanitised.
We stock et al. makeup which is perfectly safe and recommended post treatment for any facial laser hair removal.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:

- Epilepsy
- Hepatitis, HIV and AIDS
- Diabetes
- Haemophilia
- Anti-coagulant medication (Aspirin, Walfarine, Phenediene, Hapazin)
- Endocrine disorder – contact the clinic
- Light sensitivity within 500nm-900nm
- Keloid scaring
- Skin cancer
- Pregnancy or breast feeding
- Pigmentation – vitiligo, melasma moles, pigmentated naevi moles
- Hairy moles
- Cardiovascular conditions – thrombosis, phlebitis, hypertension, hypotension, heart conditions
- Connective tissue disorder – scleroderma
- Sunburn
- Suntanned skin
- Fake tan – spray tan, tanning drops, cream/lotions/oils tans
- Pace maker
- Defibrillators
- Metal pins/plates in the treatment area
- Fever
- Contagious and infectious diseases
- Viral infections – Herpes simplex (cold sore), Herpes Zoster (shingles), warts, verrucae
- Bacterial infections – boils, folliculitis
- Fungal – tinea pedis, tinea corporis
- Parasitic – lice, scabies, fleas
- Skin diseases
- Loss of skin sensitivity
- Cust, bruises, abrasions in the treatment area
- Undiagnosed lumps and bumps
- Allergies to products or material used during the treatment
- Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Gold injection (for arthritis)
- Fillers, Botox within 2 weeks prior to the laser/E-light/SHR treatment
- Under the age of 18
- Emotional disturbance
The treatment can be carried 1-4 weeks after you finish taking/using the below medication/skincare products – Please contact the clinic for details:
- Photosensitive medication – for example steroids
- Herbal supplements that cause photosensitivity (St John’s Wort, essential oils, iron tablets)
- Beta Carotene, vitamin C may sensitise the skin
- AHA’s, BHA’s, retinoids, retinol use
- Anti-histamine medication
- Herbal supplements that cause photosensitivity (essential oils, iron tablets)
- AHA’s, BHA’s, retinol use
- Anti-depressants (example: Prozac)
- Antibiotic medication
- Please contact the clinic if you are under any medication to confirm that the treatment can be carried
Will have to be covered during the treatment and treatment will not be possible on:
- Tattoos
- Permanent and semi-permanent make-up
